You show up to the gym all ready to crush your workout—only to realize three reps in that your leggings aren't quite as opaque as you thought. They're basically see-through whenever you do a squat or even bend over to pick up your weights. Yikes.

We've all been there, but fortunately, there are plenty of squat-proof leggings on the market that will prevent any future embarrassing moments at the weight rack. Whether you're actually squatting or doing something equally intense (like running, burpees, or HIIT), we've rounded up 10 of the best leggings that are thick enough to keep you covered behind, yet are still breathable and comfortable enough that you'll want to wear them long after your workout has ended—a.k.a. lounging around the house.

1. Lululemon Align Leggings

Aligns come in lengths from 21" to 31".

Lululemon Aligns aren't just my favorite leggings—they're my favorite piece of clothing, period. Never have I worn something so soft, so flattering, and so comfortable. The buttery-smooth leggings fit like a second skin and provide enough support and coverage that I can wear them for everything from lifting weights to teaching yoga. And despite previous claims of Lululemon leggings being sheer, these ones are not. They have thousands of fans (including many of Reviewed's staff!) and I highly suggest buying multiple pairs (I shamelessly own 13!).

2. Alo Yoga Airlift Leggings

I love wearing my Alo Airlift leggings to yoga.

If they're good enough for celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Selena Gomez, and Gigi Hadid, these high-waist Alo leggings must be good enough for us, right? I tested them out and can attest that they're completely squat-proof thanks to fabric that's 100% opaque, yet also comfortable and breathable. I like that they've held up well with regular washes, too.

Just do it.

Nike makes a lot of athlete-approved leggings, but one of its most popular pairs is the Nike Pro tights. Our social media manager (and resident runner), Kate McCarthy, owns three pairs and says they're the ones she reaches for day after day. She likes that the Nike Pro leggings are supportive enough for any activity or intensity level and that they provide full coverage in all the right places.

These leggings are some of the best I've ever worn.

All the style bloggers and celebs (looking at you, Ashley Graham!) who are obsessed with Bandier leggings are onto something. I bought a pair of the best-selling All-Access Center Stage leggings and found them to be silky smooth, appropriately thick, and very flattering. They've quickly become one of my favorite pairs.

Yes, there's even pockets.

With nearly 4,000 rave reviews, the Salutation Stash Pocket leggings are the most popular pair at Athleta. Available in regular, petite, tall, and plus sizes, the leggings are praised for their thick yet sweat-wicking Powervita fabric that feels soft against your skin. Bonus: They stay perfectly in place no matter how intense your workout is.

You really will want to live in these, as the name suggests.

One of Nordstrom's most popular pair of leggings feature a thick polyester-spandex blend that you can't see through (even when squatting!) and a secure high waistband that won't roll down while you're working out. Over 7,000 reviewers rave that these hi Zella leggings are compressive yet comfortable and some of the best they've ever bought.

7. Lululemon Wunder Under Leggings

You can't go wrong with Lululemon.

While Aligns will always have my vote for the best Lululemon leggings, Wunder Unders are a close second, especially if you're doing something more intense like running or weightlifting. The Wunder Under leggings provide more support and compression than Aligns, but are just as comfortable and flattering. They also come in a variety of lengths from 21" to 31" so you can custom fit your leggings to your preference.

There's a pair for every shape and size.

Girlfriend Collective has garnered quite the cult following over the years—and for good reason. One of our editors swears by the brand's leggings, like this pair which has over 8,000 (!!) glowing reviews. Not only are they sustainable (they're made from recycled bottles), but she says they're also made of a super soft and stretchy material and she's never had an issue with them being see-through. So you can squat care-free while wearing these.

Balance Athletica.

I've been a fan of Balance Athletica since the day I started following their founder, @taychayy. The Instagram-famous activewear brand prides itself on being size-inclusive and high-quality. I own a pair myself and always feel comfortable and supported when I wear them to the gym. The high-waisted cut is flattering, functional, and fashionable all at the same time and they're not transparent at all. Plus, there are tons of styles and colors (including tie-dye!) to choose from.
