Amazon releases latest Echo Spot, a smart alarm clock with Alexa

Just in time for Amazon Prime Day is the all-new version of the Echo Spot—an Alexa-enabled smart alarm clock that offers a range of custom-designed clock faces and vibrant colors.

Designed to fit perfectly on your nightstand, the Echo Spot features a user-friendly smart display that makes setting alarms and checking updates a breeze. Its compact design ensures it won't take up much space, and with just a glance, you can see the time, weather updates, and even song titles.

The Echo Spot also boasts a 1.73-inch front-firing directional speaker that promises rich, vibrant sound. The speaker is just a little smaller than the compact Echo Pop's 1.95-inch speaker, which delivers surprisingly good sound for its size. We expect a similar experience with the Echo Spot!

The Echo Spot is available to purchase now for $79.99, but Prime members can get it for just $44.99 (a savings of $35) through July 17. This is the first upgrade to the Echo Spot since it was discontinued several years ago. The new Echo Spot comes in three color options: black, glacier white, and ocean blue. But what really sets it apart compared to other smart alarm clocks is the ability to customize the display screen to match your room. You can choose from one of six vibrant colors: orange, violet, magenta, lime, teal, or blue, and then personalize it further with different clock faces.

The Echo Spot also works with your smart home devices and supports Alexa Routines. For example, you can use the smart alarm clock to automate your daily tasks, like turning on your lights and coffee maker when your alarm goes off or setting a bedtime routine that locks the front doors and dims the lights. There are three buttons on the top of the device—one for muting the device and two others for turning the volume up and down.
