About the Splendor Blender

This personal-sized blender comes in all of Our Place's signature colors

Our Place’s first blender, the Splendor Blender, has 1000 watts of power and certainly packs a punch. With a minimal design and four main parts, it’s easy to display on your kitchen’s countertop or open shelving.

The Splendor Blender includes a heavy blending base for stability, a spacious 24-ounce canister, a screw-on blade top, and a sipping lid with a handle. The blender jar has wavy walls that are designed for a powerful blending vortex, and just like the brand's other popular products, this appliance is free from harmful chemicals like PTFEs and PFAS.

You can shop the blender for $125 from Our Place in four colors: Steam (cream), Blue Salt, Spice (terracotta), and Char, to match all other Our Place appliances and cookware.

How we tested

We put this blender through Reviewed's standard testing for personalized blenders, testing whether it can break down tough ingredients.

We tested Our Place’s blender by making several recipes, including a smoothie, and romesco sauce, and blending only ice. In each test, we looked for consistent textures monitored for any less-than-ideal design problems.

Between each recipe, we cleaned the blender as instructed, and we watched and listened to the blender as it made each recipe to monitor any movement or excessive noise levels.

What we like

The canister’s mouth is wide, yielding silky results

The wide cup opening made it easy to add plenty of ingredients for smoothies and sauces.

The Splendor Blender canister is wide and it doesn’t taper where the blade screws on. This design allows all your ingredients to cycle through the blender, resulting in a smooth and even texture in smoothies and sauces.

During testing, the wide mouth also prevented me from needing to unscrew the blender, stir the ingredients, and blend a second time. While the ice test resulted in some unevenly sized pieces, most of the ice was able to cycle through the blades.

Most accessories are dishwasher-safe

The blender canister, sipping lid, and even the blade attachment are dishwasher-safe, which makes cleanup as easy as possible.

We still recommend rinsing things before placing them on your dishwasher’s top rack, but being able to clean the blade attachment without hand-washing is a time-saver.

It comes in an array of colors to match your other Our Place products

Matching appliances and cookware from Our Place bring a trendy cohesion to the home kitchen.

One of the perks of purchasing Our Place kitchenware, including small appliances, is that everything will match. The Splendor Blender extends Our Place’s signature collection of colors that also align with the Wonder Oven, Dream Cooker, Always Pan, and even some dinnerware.

Plus, you can always mix and match if you’d like, since the four shades look great together in almost any combination.

What we don’t like

Cleaning under the blades is tough

We found a few downsides to this blender, like its inability to break down ice and tough-to-clean attachments.

We tried washing the blender by hand to assess its cleanability, and it was tougher than using the dishwasher.

The canister and lid were relatively easy to clean, though the plastic ribs on the inside of the canister were easier to clean with a brush than a sponge.

But the blade attachment was difficult to clean with any tool because the blades aren’t much taller than the lid they attach to. That means it was tough to access any remnants stuck in the nooks and crannies, without potentially cutting your hand in the process.

It’s quite loud

As expected, the blender ran loud during the ice test, but we found that it also runs loud during every use—even when blending simple smoothies.

The blend cycle is quick, but if you need to be cognizant of roommates or family, this might not be the best option for early-morning or late-night blending.

The blender migrates

Another thing we noticed during our testing is that the blender tends to move on the countertop while in use—despite its promise of a weighted base for optimal stability.

During testing, the blender migrated and spun while I blended a nutty romesco sauce. However, this didn't happen during every test; it stayed perfectly sturdy during the ice test.

If you stay nearby while the appliance is in use, this downside can probably be ignored. But it’s something the design could improve upon in the future.

Should you buy the Splendor Blender?

Maybe, if you're an Our Place loyalist

This stylish blender is great for typical blending activities, but it's not the best we've tested.

If you're committed to the Our Place aesthetic, the Splendor Blender is a great addition to your collection—especially for everyday tasks, as it consistently blends drinks and sauces into a smooth liquid.

We also love the countertop appeal of this blender and that there aren’t many attachments you need to store. The wide mouth and drinkable lid are perks, and we love that everything but the plug-in base can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

But due to some in-use drawbacks—like insufficient ice breakdown, a loud motor, and instability—there might be other personal blenders that can deliver better results.

If style is high on your priority list, consider opting for the Beast Mini instead. It has a sleek and trendy design, a similar personal-sized build, and doesn't struggle with stability on the countertop.
