[Psychotropic drugs in general practice]
Abstract
The article presents a user-friendly overview of psychotropic drugs which are helpful for the prescription in a primary care practice. The author recommends to get familiar with just a small selection of drugs first and second line. This means to know well about their effectiveness, short-and long-term side effects, interactions with other drugs and the necessary monitoring that should be done.
Der Artikel möchte einen Überblick über Psychopharmaka geben, die in einer Grundversorgerpraxis am besten zur Anwendung kommen. Der Autor empfiehlt als Rüstzeug für den Praxisalltag, sich mit einigen wenigen Medikamenten erster und zweiter Wahl vertraut zu machen. Deren Wirksamkeit, kurz- und langfristige Nebenwirkungen, Interaktionen mit anderen Medikamenten und das bei deren Anwendung notwendige Begleitmonitoring sollten gut bekannt sein.
Cet article donne une vue d'ensemble facile à mettre en œuvre sur les médicaments psychotropes, qui conviendraient le mieux pour un service de base dans un cabinet médical. L'auteur recommande comme outil pour les médicaments de tous les jours de se familiariser avec quelques médicaments de premier et de deuxième choix. Ces médicaments devraient être bien connus pour leur efficacité, leurs réactions secondaires à court et long terme, leurs interactions avec d'autres médicaments et pour la nécessité d'un suivi médical.
