Ground rule is to ask yourself, can you sell? If the answer is a profound yes, ask the second question, what makes you think you can sell? Qualify the answes with facts from your own experience. Another question is can you handle rejection? You may be a master of the chosen field, but the other person will see you as a sales person only to begin with, therfore you have to brace for criticism and more. Many people want to become a Consultant a few succeed. It is a persevering path. " If you take a closer look, those who inspired you to make an attempt, didn't succeed since yesterday, it was a long affair, may have taken years" what you saw was success. That was just an outcome of years of persevering on the path.
