Despite the language barrier Vanessa deduces that Zara is being sexually abused by Jonjo, who runs the hostel where she and other girls , all illegal immigrants, live but knows that if she tells the police Zara will be deported. They find a wad of money and Vanessa tells Zara to travel to a friend in London with it but when Jonjo returns with the other girls she devises another plan to rectify matters.
