P&Q’s Must Reads: Professor Scott Galloway On Why The Kids Are So Angry

Hello everyone  — Welcome back to Poets&Quants’ Must Reads, a quick, digestible recap of the top business school news, sponsored by CentreCourt, P&Q‘s virtual admission events.

I’m your host, Kristy Bleizeffer, and I’ll be highlighting the most important P&Q stories you might have missed. So, let’s get to it.

No. 1: Professor Scott Galloway On Why The Kids Are So Angry

On its face, Scott Galloway’s latest book, “The Algebra of Wealth: A Simple Formula For Financial Security”, is a straightforward guide to maximizing your money in the face of great economic challenges, especially for young workers. But between the lines it is also an acknowledgment that the youngins are angry.

P&Q recently sat down with Galloway for a wide ranging discussion about the book and how economic anger is fueling everything from campus protests to DEI backlash.

No. 2: Poets&Quants’ 40-Under-40 Best MBA Professors Of 2024

This week, we are proud to present this year’s Best 40-Under-40 list of MBA professors, featured right now on our homepage. This is the 12th edition of our annual recognition, and through 480 total honorees overall, our goal remains unchanged: To identify and celebrate the most talented young professors currently teaching in MBA programs around the world.

This year’s list includes professors from 34 different schools, including 15 international schools, and 21 exceptional women, the most we’ve ever had. We received more than 1,000 nominations and evaluated individual professors on their teaching honors, research impact, and the breadth and quality of their nominations.

Please, keep an eye out for our 2025 nomination period which will open next February.

And its analysis unveiled some intriguing questions: Does prestige ultimately translate to authority? And Does your school choice ultimately define how far you go in your career?

Turns out, the answer resembles an answer commonly given in most business school courses. It depends.
