USWNT Olympic send-off review & mailbag

USWNT Olympic send-off review & mailbag

This week, Meg and Tamerra analyze how the U.S. women's national performed in their final two dress rehearsals, against Mexico and Costa Rica, ahead of the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics. There may just be a growing concern that the USA's midfield is, in fact, not midfielding. In what ways can Emma Hayes attempt to fix it? And, how did the hot weather conditions this past week play a factor in the preparations for the upcoming tournament?
The duo also discusses what the sale of Angel City FC to Willow Bay and Bob Iger means for the NWSL club's aspirations on and off the pitch. Before then turning their attention to a special Olympic mailbag, where the podcast hosts answered a selection of burning questions submitted by the listeners.

Emma Hayes leaves behind Alex Morgan: 2024 USWNT Olympic roster breakdown

The USA's 2024 Paris Olympics roster is finally here. So, Tamerra Griffin and Meg Linehan take a deep dive into the major takeaways, leading with head coach Emma Hayes' big decision to leave behind veteran forward and co-captain Alex Morgan.
Was it the right call to drop Morgan, and how was the move factored into the roster construction on and off the pitch? What did Tamerra and Meg make of midfielder Korbin Albert's inclusion in the squad despite a furor from the fanbase? What to make of more surprises on the 'Alternate' player list?
PLUS: It has been a manic week of NWSL news, and there's plenty to get to in the U.S. domestic game. From coaching arrivals to departures to front office resignations. Tamerra and Meg try to make sense of Casey Stoney's sacking in San Diego, while speculating a new club that might swoop in and offer her a job. And, what are the first impressions of Jonatan Giraldez, now that the former FC Barcelona coach has touched down in Washington D.C?

Soccer starter pack

This should be in the starter pack for every soccer fan, it is essential. The coverage is knowledgeable, thoughtful, fresh, and fun. I’ve been listening to full-time for years, the addition of Tamara has added an additional layer to an already great pod and made it excellent. The questions they ask aren’t the same fodder I get on my other soccer pods. While the debate was slightly chaotic I appreciated the variation in format. Tamara and Meg are a dynamic duo with coverage you won’t get anywhere else.
