When college student Hope Camden gets convinced to go with her sister on a getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains during Christmas break she believes she will just spend her time reading and skiing. The next thing she knows she meets Jack Freeman, a gorgeous Army helicopter pilot who is there for the same wedding as her sister. Jack and Hope are instantly attracted to each other and spend their entire time together. Too bad Jack has to leave for Afghanistan after the wedding is over. When the time comes to leave, Jack and Hope make a pact to meet in one year if they both want to continue to see where these feelings will take them. There is the possibility that Jack may not make it back from Afghanistan, but they both hope that is not the case. A year is a long time to wait to find out if Hope will get her happy ending, but in the end it was all worth it! This story was a fun, sexy Christmas novella with great characters.
