6 GREAT THINGS ABOUT TRANSIT:

1) The best real-time data.
The app uses the best transit agency data sources like MTA Bus Time, MTA Train Time, NJ Transit MyBus, SF MUNI Next Bus, CTA Bus Tracker, WMATA Next Arrivals, SEPTA Real-Time and many more. We combine that data with our fancy ETA prediction engine so that you get the most accurate real-time info possible for all transit modes - including buses, subways, trains, streetcars, metros, ferries, ridehail and more. Prefer to travel on two wheels? With GPS, you can see live bikeshare and scooter locations right on the map.

2) Travel offline
Bus schedules, stop locations, subway maps and even our trip planner are available offline.

3) Powerful trip planning
See fast and easy trips combining buses, subways and trains – the app even suggests routes that combine multiple options in one trip like bus + bike or scooter + metro. You’ll find great trip plans that you never even considered! Don’t like to walk a lot or use a certain mode or transit agency? Personalize your travel in the settings.

4) GO: our step-by-step navigator*
Receive departure alarms to catch your bus or train, and get alerted when it’s time to get off or transfer. When using GO, you’ll also crowdsource more accurate info and real-time ETAs for other passengers– and rack up points and thank yous for being the most helpful rider on your line.

5) User Reports
See what other riders have to say! With millions of users contributing, you’ll get helpful info on crowding levels, on-time performance, the closest subway exits, and more.

6) Easy Payments

I dont know what changed, the app used to be accurate and no longer is. I understand some buses on the schedule will be cancelled, but the app is showing live tracking for buses that are not on the road at all. It is showing the wifi signal, counting down the minutes to 0, and the bus never arrives. It does not tell you when any buses are cancelled, and this happens at mulitiple stops all over the city. The Ventra app is temporarily more accurate

I am editing my review - not updating my score - because I had to switch back once Moovit started charging for access to live tracking of buses. Because I had to switch back though, I thought I'd give some feedback to the developer: We (the consumers) cannot keep paying subscriptions. It is not sustainable for normal people. I understand that you have to make your mint, but just charge a flat fee to purchase the full features of the app and make it a reliable app. It's infuriating. That is all.

We understand it can be frustrating that we’re asking people to subscribe for certain features. Royale helps sustain Transit. Even without Royale, you can plan A-to-B trips, pin your favourite lines and move the map to see additional lines. This is a good app. If there was a reasonable one time fee for purchasing it, I would buy it right away., but I am not as keen on subscriptions. I do not want to be nickel and dimed in a monthly subscription, but I would consider an annual subscription. Not only a problem with this app, but it is not easy to find out the subscription prices. That is a problem with Google and with the app developers. I'm not clicking to try to free before I see upfront what the fees are after the trial is over.

What's new

- Feral service alerts have been tamed, no more inconsistencies when you look up different stops or route directions
- Labels for bike lanes in the trip planner have been switched to “frog green” from “croc green” despite the crocodiles’ tears of protest
- Plenty of behind-the-scenes changes, soon yours to discover, just like the license plates of Ontario

Well, that’s it! Stay tuned for a big summer of feature announcements ;)
