Each leader wants their team members to be creative, to come up with ideas, to come to the meeting with a fresh perspective. And what’s the best way to achieve that? “Give your people the space to be who they are,” says Nivin AL KUZBARI, Senior Manager at talabat and an experienced head of design at large organizations. 💡 We all want to be seen. We all want to be trusted. Big task for the leaders: create an environment where your people feel recognized and trustworthy. They’ll come with ideas, don’t you worry.

Product design and UX will never be the same. Whether we talk about autonomous vehicles, medical devices, home tech, and e-commerce, the change brought by AI has been radical. The fusion of AI into design processes has enabled unprecedented levels of personalization, predictive capabilities, and task automation, leading to more efficient, innovative, and user-centric products. However, it’s not all sunshine and flowers. Let’s take a closer look at what’s going on… 👉 AI has been revolutionizing design workflows: - Adobe Sensei - Automates image recognition, color matching, and font selection, freeing designers to focus on creativity - Uizard by Miro Labs - Transforms hand-drawn sketches into functional UI code in seconds - UserTesting - Connects companies with their ideal audience for real-time user research - Framer - Uses predictive algorithms to anticipate user patterns and suggest design solutions 👉 We have started to implement AI in various parts of our workload: - For research, it collects and interprets user feedback, surveys, and social media data, identifying patterns to inform design decisions - For visual design, it automates repetitive tasks, letting designers concentrate on innovation - For solution ideation, it analyzes customer data for highly personalized products and experiences - For process automation, it manages technical limitations, allowing designers to focus on aesthetics 👉 Of course, it has brought by incredible benefits: - Automating repetitive tasks lets designers focus on creativity - AI analyzes vast data to identify patterns and generate innovative ideas - It reduces design and development costs, while accelerating time-to-market - AI-powered products offer seamless and intuitive interactions 👉 But challenges do come with it: - Transparency in AI decision-making is crucial to gaining user trust - Secure, ethical use of personal data is paramount - Continuous monitoring and diverse datasets are essential to prevent bias - AI can automate tasks but cannot replicate human creativity. Designers must find the right balance Whether you implement it correctly into your design processes or not, that’s up to your knowledge… Or lack of. So let us know if you need a little help!

Good design is more than just “making it look pretty” —it's a key driver of business success! 🏆 If you want to enhance customer satisfaction, boost sales, and significantly add to business value, keep reading… According to a McKinsey & Company’s report, companies strong in design outperform industry benchmarks by up to 2:1. So, when it comes to design success, you need to follow certain key principles that can blend aesthetics with functionality. 🎯 But for your sake, here are the essentials: 1. Set clear, user-centered goals: - Establish objectives that steer the design process towards user needs and business goals - Ensure design goals sync with business KPIs, making outcomes measurable and impactful - Focus on user preferences and needs, driving satisfaction and business value 2. Develop a robust design process: - Foster an iterative process incorporating user feedback - Leverage high-fidelity prototypes, wireframes, sketches, and prototyping software for adaptability and precision - Encourage teamwork and refine designs through methodical iterations 3. Balance creativity and usability: - Employ creative problem-solving to generate groundbreaking ideas - Ensure designs are user-friendly and meet user expectations - Validate design decisions with real users to confirm functionality and satisfaction 📊 To validate the value of design investments, it's also important to measure the impact using key metrics: - Track the user interaction with designs through session depth, time on page, and scroll depth - Measure the effectiveness of design in driving desired actions - Gauge user satisfaction and loyalty with Net Promoter Scores - Assess how well designs help users achieve their objectives - Link design outcomes to business performance and user happiness What other essential tips would you add?

Design consistency is essential for maintaining brand identity, but the challenge grows with the size of the organization and the number of projects. That’s where design systems come to the rescue. 🎨 These systems are crucial for product teams, helping both designers and developers in their daily work. A design system is a collection of reusable components and a set of standards that help manage design effectively. It comprises two key elements: 👉 Design Repository: - Offers detailed instructions for visual elements like logos, typography, and brand colors, including guidelines on tone of voice and language - Houses reusable design elements with implementation instructions, often including code snippets for frontend and backend development - Contains reusable layouts and templates, providing a broader view of design patterns for creating consistent user interfaces 👉 Management Team: - Develops and maintains guidelines for user interactions - Ensures visual consistency by creating and updating visual examples - Provides code snippets and implements specifications for each component When using design systems, you create a consistent user experience across platforms by tailoring UI elements to meet platform-specific standards. Some companies that have used design systems are: Booking.com: - Developed a comprehensive design system involving 200+ designers and 800+ developers - Created a Design Language with design tokens and a Design API for storing and converting these tokens - Established a structured maintenance process to ensure proper usage and consistency Keller Williams Realty, Inc.: - Underwent a digital transformation in 2015, leading to the development of a design system - Created a comprehensive resource with visual assets and detailed instructions to maintain consistency across new digital products - Focused on interconnectedness to stay ahead of competitors Joystream DAO: - Created a responsive design system called ‘Atlas’ - Developed design guidelines, implementation guidelines, and model design system components - Resulted in a flexible design system that can be adapted by the DAO community The lack of a design system often leads to team conflict and visual inconsistency. Given the rapid pace of new product development, design systems are the obvious solution for accelerating design and coding work. https://lnkd.in/dhsZ2r9A

ChatGPT doesn’t have feelings. Nor does it have consciousness. So why do we compliment it? 🤖 And… Do we? Do you? When we started asking around, it turned out most of us would start communicating with the chat with a “please” and finish with a “thank you.” Now as funny as it may seem, it says a lot about us, humans. It’s a human thing to appreciate help, praise good results, and basically treat others the way we’d want to be treated. According to Nielsen Norman Group, people anthropomorphize AI in four basic ways: 1. courtesy, 2. reinforcement, 3. roleplay, 4. and companionship. While seeking emotional connection with AI seems a bit of a worrying trend, there’s nothing wrong with being polite. What do you think? 🤔
