A few folks pointed out an interesting tidbit from the last intent webinar I did on advancements in #Bluetooth #LEAudio and #Auracast that surprised them, so I thought I'd share it here as well: ℹ️ If you're building an Auracast Assistant, like a mobile app that works with Auracast-enabled headphones, the platform you're deploying it on doesn't necessarily have to support it! ℹ️ So, you can already start building accompanying #Auracast mobile experiences for your hardware even though iOS and Apple don't officially support it. How? Great question! Here's how it works: 1️⃣ Your mobile application can ask the Auracast receiver (for instance, the headphones you're building) to perform a scan for active broadcast. You do this through GATT characteristic; all modern smartphones, tablets, and personal computers already support it! 2️⃣ Your Auracast receiver will perform the scan and share the results with the assistant—in this case, the application running on a non-Auracast-enabled device. This is also done through a simple #GATT interface. 3️⃣ Finally, the Assistant will build up an internal database of all Auracast streams and let the user choose which one to hand back off to the receiver.
