One of the best things about the ABSL conference is the yearly boost of inspiration and energy it provides. It's amazing to meet leaders like Jacinda Ardern there. As a dad of two daughters, I really admire how Jacinda Ardern champions gender equality. During her time as New Zealand's Prime Minister, she made sure women hold half the seats in parliament and government, decriminalized abortion, pushed for pay equity, and extended paid maternity leave to six months. Plus, she became the second woman in history to have a baby while leading a country.

I couldn't imagine a better project for Łódź than a new, one-of-a-kind in Poland, public university. And here it is! Thousands of new jobs and students, increased research and development potential, together, a significant growth driver - the revival of the Military Medical Academy (WAM) will consolidate the national training of medical professionals for the armed forces right here in Łódź! This is another impressive investment in the city's medical and R&D potential in recent years. We are proud to have supported this project as local authorities. There is no better place for consolidating processes and projects than Łódź. The future looks even more promising given the upcoming infrastructural investments. Manufaktura in Łódź is celebrating its 18th anniversary this year, marking nearly two decades since its transformation from an industrial giant into a bustling center of culture, entertainment, and commerce. Originally established in the 19th century by Izrael Poznański, the site was once one of the largest textile factories in the region, employing around 7,000 workers at its peak. The early 21st-century revitalization, led by Cyprian Kosiński with significant investment from the The Rothschild Group turned the historical factory into a vibrant modern complex. The French company Apsys Polska played a crucial role in managing the redevelopment and ongoing operations of Manufaktura, ensuring its successful integration of retail, cultural, and entertainment facilities. Apsys's expertise in managing urban complexes contributed significantly to Manufaktura's status as a top destination in Łódź. Today, Manufaktura spans 27 hectares and includes a mix of cultural venues, entertainment options, and retail stores. It houses the Museum of the Factory, a cinema, a bowling alley, and numerous restaurants and shops, making it a major attraction for both locals and tourists. Owned since 2012 by the German investment fund Union Investment Real Estate GmbH, Manufaktura draws millions of visitors annually. The upcoming central tunnel station nearby is set to enhance its accessibility even further. Manufaktura stands as a prime example of successful post-industrial revitalization, blending historical heritage with contemporary use.

2025! Łódź has always been at the center of Poland, but it's now on track to become Poland's transportation hub This tunnel has been awaited for years. It is a 7.5 km long and 17 m deep tunnel that will connect the Lodz Fabryczna station with the Lodz Zabieniec and Lodz Kaliska stations. The construction of the central tunnel is an investment aimed at improving the Lodz Railway Junction. Previously, as part of the project, the Lodz Widzew - Lodz Fabryczna railway tunnel was built along with the new Lodz Fabryczna railway station. This is part of the New Center of Lodz investment. The Lodz tunnel will complement the modern Lodz Fabryczna station. The new tunnel will transform the Lodz Fabryczna station from a terminal to a transit station. This will shorten travel times, and both regional and long-distance trains will be able to pass through the city center via stations like Lodz Widzew, Fabryczna, and Kaliska on the east-west axis and Lodz Widzew, Fabryczna, and Zabieniec on the north-south axis. According to the project, three new stops will be created in the tunnel: at the intersection of Zielona, Zachodnia, and Kościuszki streets, at the intersection of Ogrodowa and Karskiego streets and at Wlokniarzy street. In the future, not only local trains but primarily national and international long-distance trains will pass through the Lodz central tunnel. For the city itself, it will be like a "mini metro," connecting three stations: Lodz Fabryczna, Lodz Zabieniec, and Lodz Kaliska. The completion of the construction of the underground railway connection is scheduled for the year 2024, with the first trains set to operate through the tunnel in 2025.
