3Shape TRIOS 5 intraoral scanner wins gold! Dental Product Shopper recently gave TRIOS 5 its “Best Product Award.”   This is terrific recognition for 3Shape, as dentists and hygienists are responsible for product reviews at the dental industry magazine.   Dental professionals are asked to evaluate specific criteria and rate their overall satisfaction with various products. Those who participate in the product reviews are unpaid.   To this end, TRIOS 5 received the highest score and honor.   “The most important recommendation a product can receive is by the professionals who use it. They say good people make for good companies. 3Shape Senior Product Specialist Youri Van Miegroet is an example. He is a self-described nerd who loves to build with LEGO. Like most kids, he grew up playing with LEGO. But he really got hooked when the Star Wars sets came out. Youri comes from a region in Belgium bordering northern France that has seen more than its share of battles in the 20th century—think the movie 1917. He and his friend Corneel Clarys decided to build a LEGO piece to commemorate the fallen in the region. Using 23,000 fixed LEGO bricks, the two recreated the Hedge Row Trench Cemetery in Belgium. The piece is now on display at the Commonwealth Wealth Visitors Center in Beaurain, France. At 3Shape, we heard about Youri’s talent and asked him if he could create a LEGO replica of our TRIOS 4 intraoral scanner. Youri did so and much more. In his spare time, he recreated almost our entire line of award-winning scanners out of LEGO. You can see them on display at our 3Shape Academy in Copenhagen. He and Corneel have also continued to build together, creating a LEGO version of the Canadian National Vimy Memorial in nearby northern France. The Canadian Department of Veteran Affairs commissioned that piece. The piece required 11,285 LEGO bricks, which matches the number of Canadian soldiers missing in action from Vimy. The future of tech is here 👩💻    There are many means to inspire the younger generation to a future in tech! One way is introducing the thrill of software coding, math, and problem-solving for elementary school students. At least that’s what the 3Shape grassroots organization, “Promoting Women in STEM”, decided to do. 🗨 “To address the gender gap in STEM disciplines, we are collaborating with various schools and organizations to ignite the passion of young minds – particularly young girls – for science, technology, engineering, and math. By combining problem-solving, fun coding exercises, and 3Shape technology, we aim to inspire younger generations to pursue a career in tech.” Alessia De Stefano Last time 3Shape Women in STEM teamed up with Hello Ada and hosted a great event for girls and their parents on the relevance and importance of coding, math, and analytical thinking, not only in 3Shape but also in their everyday lives. The purpose of Hello Ada is to support parents to get their girls interested in STEM by creating a knowledge universe.
