The recently completed brand new office of LantroTech, a technology services startup, in Islamabad. An office space designed to be vibrant and comfortable, while emphasizing efficiency and connectivity. The design succeeds in translating the company’s brand identity and ethos into the physical space. All elements across the floor are an expression of the company and its people. Innovative materials such as curved glass partitions reduce sharp divisions adding rhythm and connectivity. The spatial layout encourages users to experience the full breadth of the space, with varied points of interest spread throughout, including silent rooms, two person meeting booths, a breakout space, mini-golf, and a cafe that is both visually and physically transparent. A highly unorthodox use of various flooring materials combines wood, carpet, and a soft synthetic flooring that creates the track that both guides and invites the user as they walk through the space. The site’s location on a lower ground floor meant a lack of direct sunlight, this has been offset using large bold custom lights that both help define and enlarge spaces across the office. Combined with the use of planters, a sense of connectivity with the exterior is created. Color and texture has been used generously throughout to reflect the vibrancy and diversity of the workplace itself. Automated using MTronic Pakistan's comprehensive network of sensors and smart switches, the space is highly responsive to its users movement; massively enhancing the connection between the employees and their workplace. The language of curves as opposed to hard edges is reflected on all three planes of the space, the floor, the walls and the ceiling, creating a dynamic relationship between soft geometry and hard materials.
