Cebu Institute of Technology University Visits the Purple Tribe! Students from Cebu Institute of Technology University recently visited the P&A Grant Thornton Cebu Office on July 12, 2024. During their visit, the students underwent a training session, facilitated by HR Operations Specialist Diko Bajalla, with Associate Consultant from Advisory Services Adrian Ayco as the main speaker. The session also featured speakers from different practice areas, including Audit Associates Jenzel Longno and Sandy Sanico, Tax Advisory Associate Felipe Juban, and Tax Compliance Associate Mcrom Iral. This collaboration between the Firm and the university offered CIT-U students a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights about the industry and envision themselves as future accounting professionals. PICPA AWC 2024 continues its celebration with the Eastern Metro Manila Chapter (EMMC) on July 17, 2024, at the Bohol-Samal Conference Rooms. With the theme, "Accounting Profession Unveiled: Expectations and Realities Across Sectors," the event seeks to educate accounting students with insights from renowned speakers and their experiences. P&A Grant Thornton Vice Chairman and Deputy Managing Partner and President of PICPA EMMC, Atty. Vier Aznar, delivered the opening remarks at the event. He mentioned how this event bridges the gap between expectations and realities across four sectors: the academe, public practice, commerce and industry, and government. This session also discussed what students can expect when entering this noble profession. Janis Maghinay, Past President of APACI Commerce and Industry and a Purple Tribe alumna, was among the speakers at the event. She emphasized that developing interpersonal skills is just as important as attaining technical abilities. She encouraged students to maintain their drive and passion for learning, as it will be valuable in the future.
