Professor Kelly Hannah-Moffat

Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture

Professor Kelly Hannah-Moffat was appointed as Vice-President, People Strategy, Equity & Culture effective July 1, 2021. A former Vice-Dean Undergraduate at University of Toronto Mississauga, she is a full Professor in Criminology at the department of Sociology and cross-appointed to the Centre of Criminology and Socio-Legal Studies. Professor Hannah-Moffat’s research has made important contributions to social and criminal justice policy and solitary confinement and institutional risk management practices.

In her role as the Vice-President she is responsible for employment and labour relations with 28 employee groups, including 25 bargaining units, four non-union groups, and the Faculty Association. Her portfolio also oversees recruitment, organizational and staff leadership and development, compensation, benefits, pension, HR technology and innovation.

A key priority of Professor Hannah-Moffat’s mandate is to promote a teaching, learning, and working environment that is equitable, diverse, and inclusive for all U of T employees. She also has shared responsibility for the Personal Safety, High Risk, Sexual Violence Prevention and Support team, as well as for Campus Police and Crisis Management.
