A Utah CEO and his teenage daughter have been identified as the victims of a fatal car crash after a bulldozer fell on top of their vehicle.

Richard David Hendrickson, CEO and president of outdoor furniture company Lifetime Products, and his 16-year-old daughter Sally died in the collision at Ogden Canyon in Utah on Saturday, July 6, Utah Highway Patrol announced in a news release.

The tragic incident occurred at around 12:49 p.m. local time as “a tow truck carrying a mini bulldozer traveling eastbound” in the opposite direction of Hendrickson, 57, and his family negotiated “a right-hand curve” while passing them, ejecting the bulldozer onto their GMC pickup that had been towing a boat, per the release.

Hendrickson and Sally were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other adult passengers left with non-life-threatening injuries, the release states.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of our CEO and President, Richard David Hendrickson, in a car accident today in Ogden Canyon,” Lifetime Products said in a statement.

“This heartbreaking incident also claimed the life of one of his daughters, Sally," the statement added.

Hendrickson was described by the Lifetime Products statement as “more than a company leader.”

“He was ... a visionary and a friend to many within our business and the wider community,” it said, in part. “His ability to connect with people bound all of his other talents together in a very special way."

Added Barry Mower, Founder of Lifetime Products, “He was one of my most trusted and cherished friends and will be sorely missed. Lifetime will not be the same without him. My love and heartfelt sympathy go out to his dear family.”

According to the Utah-based company, the passengers traveling with Hendrickson and his daughter were his wife and two of their other children, who "sustained non-life-threatening injuries." Another daughter was not in the vehicle, as she was away overseas.
