Cheryl Ladd Dishes on Working with 'Adorable' Katherine Heigl on the Set of Their New Movie

Original Charlie’s Angels star Cheryl Ladd told PEOPLE that she “had a great time” working with Katherine Heigl in their upcoming film Unforgettable.

Despite playing the mother of a distraught and mentally unstable divorcee (played by Heigl), Ladd, 65, said that The Ugly Truth star was “absolutely adorable, darling, and wonderful to work with” for the seat-gripping thriller. “I had a great time with her.”

As for her role, Ladd said with a mischievous smile: “The woman that I am allowed to play is just deliciously interesting.” Ladd added, “She was really for me a fun character to wrap my head and around and try to play.”

In June, Heigl, 37, announced on her blog that she is expecting a baby boy — her first birth child — in January. “Sooooo….the Kelley family received some very exciting news recently and I’ve been dying to share it with you all. We are expecting a third addition to our tribe!” she penned on her website. The Grey’s Anatomy actress,who shares two adopted girls — Adalaide, 4, and Naleigh, 7 — with her husband Josh, added, “This is truly an amazingly blessed time, waiting for the child you’ve been dreaming of to make their appearance.”

Although Heigl was not yet pregnant while she worked on the Unforgettable set, Ladd said with a laugh, “I think she was happily working on it,” and added, “Now she’s about to be a momma! Bless her heart.”
