Ja Rule (né Jeffrey Bruce Atkins) is an American rapper and actor. He first gained recognition as a featured artist on JAY-Z's 1998 single "Can I Get A..." He rose to fame with the release of his first album, 1999's Venni Vetti Vecci. His second and third albums, 2000's Rule 3:36 and 2001's Pain Is Love, both reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Ja Rule's most famous songs include "Holla Holla," "Between Me and You" (featuring Christina Milian), "Put It on Me" (featuring Lil' Mo and Vita), "Livin' It Up" (featuring Case), "Always on Time" (featuring Ashanti), "Mesmerize" (featuring Ashanti) and "Wonderful" (featuring R. Kelly and Ashanti). He also appeared as a featured artist on two Jennifer Lopez singles, "I'm Real" and "Ain't It Funny," which both hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ja Rule also appeared on the Ashanti single "What's Luv?," which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
