Bette Midler

Bette Midler is an American actress and singer. She rose to fame in 1972 with the release of her debut studio album, The Divine Miss M. In 1974, Midler won a Grammy Award for best new artist. Throughout her career, Midler has won four Golden Globe Awards, three Grammy Awards, three Primetime Emmys and two Tony Awards. Her breakout performance as an actress came in 1979's The Rose — a film inspired by the life of Janis Joplin — which earned Midler an Oscar nomination. In 1991, she was nominated for her second Oscar for her work in the movie For The Boys (1991). Midler's other famous films include Hocus Pocus (1993), Beaches (1998), The First Wives Club (1996) and Big Business (1988).
