Since 1974, PEOPLE has wooed everyone from Oscar and Grammy winners to talk show hosts and politicians to say ‘cheese’ and strike a pose on its cover.

And in honor of the magazine's 50th anniversary, we asked some of the stars who've graced that iconic front page to re-create some of their most memorable shots.
