Savannah Chrisley Says Chloe’s Sweet Mother’s Day Letter to Her Made Her ‘Burst Into Tears’

Savannah Chrisley had an emotional Mother's Day.

On this week's episode of her podcast Unlocked, the Chrisley Knows Best star, 26, who took over as the primary guardian of Chloe and her brother Grayson after a federal judge sentenced her parents Todd and Julie to a combined 19 years in prison for tax fraud in November 2022, spoke about her family's Mother's Day festivities, which included a sweet card from Chloe.

"Mother's Day, I don't know. It just felt weird. I don't even know if it, like yes, it sucked, but it just felt weird," Chrisley begins. "I mean, Chloe and Grayson are freaking angel children. They are the sweetest kids in the entire world, and they make it so easy."

"But Chloe wrote a letter to me for Mother's Day, and the letter says, 'Happy Mother's Day to Savannah. I know that you weren't expecting me and Grayson to come in your hands, but you are doing a great job with me and Grayson. Keep up your work. Love, Chloe.'"

"And literally, when I first read it, y'all, I just burst into tears because that is the sweetest, I mean, she's 11 years old and she was kinda dealt really crappy cards," Chrisley continues.

Noting that Chloe seems to be making the best out of her difficult situation, Chrisley says that the letter made her realize that she was doing okay as a guardian.

"You're doing a pretty good job when it comes to these kids and making them feel how they need to feel and just showing up," Chrisley told herself.

In February, Chrisley appeared on The Adversity Advantage Podcast, where she opened up about how her vision for a family of her own has changed since she became a legal guardian.

"I always used to say I will have however many kids God will allow. That was my viewpoint," she began. "I don't know, I think when you're young you think kids are easy, right? No."

"After having Chloe and Grayson, if anything, it slowed my timeline down on things," she acknowledged. "But I always said God meant for me to be a mom. If I don't do anything right with my life, that's going to be the one thing that I do right."

Reflecting on her experience, she continued, "It's definitely opened my eyes to how important bringing a child into this world is and how when we're gone, what we leave behind are children. So, how we raise them and how we love them and guide them, it matters."

"I think, if anything, it's just made me realize that when that time does come for me to have kids, every little decision matters and impacts your child," she concluded.

Since taking over as primary guardian, Chrisley has shared glimpses of their life on social media and her podcast. In an Instagram post from last July, Chrisley opened up about the realities of being a "bonus parent."

"I'm not their mom. I'm not their dad. I'm their sister and I get to love and guide them through life. Being a bonus parent is TOUGH...no one could ever add up to their parents," she wrote.

"But these kiddos have shown me so much love, patience, grace, understanding, and appreciation! Helping to raise these two kiddos is the hardest but most rewarding job I will ever have," the television personality added.
