In September 2022, the actor opened up to Jimmy Fallon about meeting the royals months prior at the Top Gun: Maverick premiere in London, joking he messed up "right off the bat."

"Oh they give you like a full kind of rules, like do's and don'ts, and there's a lot of etiquette," Teller told Fallon on The Tonight Show. "So I kind of had a sheet to prep to make sure I didn't mess it up," he added before going on to explain that he may have greeted the new Prince and Princess of Wales slightly over-enthusiastically.

"You're not supposed to, like, extend your hand right off the bat unless — unless they do," Teller told Fallon. "But I felt the vibe, so I was like 'I'm going in, I'm going in,' and to their credit they were very disarming."

As Fallon showed the audience a photo of Teller and co-star Jennifer Connelly interacting with the royal couple, Teller joked that "right there I'm honestly lost in Prince William's — in his eyes."

At the May 2022 premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in London, "I kept peeking over to check their reactions, and they seemed to be having a great time," Connelly told PEOPLE of special guests Prince William and Kate Middleton, whom she met on the red carpet (with costars Miles Teller, left, and Tom Cruise, right).

The meeting was a full-circle moment for Connelly, who met Prince William's late mother Princess Diana at the London premiere of Labyrinth in 1986.

Costar Hamm was also at the Top Gun premiere, and opened up to Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest about the rules the cast was given ahead of their meeting with the royals.

"It's a little anxiety-producing because they give you these rules that you're meant to sort of follow. You're meant to say, 'Your Royal Highness' — if they offer their name, then you can use their name, but you can't do it first," Hamm recalled. "And you can't offer your hand, they have to offer their hand. Then you have to bow, but you can't bow too low."

As she explained on The Tonight Show, Robbie was just arriving at Suki Waterhouse's housewarming party when a fellow partygoer, whom she didn't recognize, helped her look for something she had dropped.

Later, Robbie and the stranger joined a group of other stars, including Cara Delevingne, in the photo booth to take a silly pic. The actress even teased the redheaded man about his resemblance to Ed Sheeran.

Turns out, the mystery man was Prince Harry. "He's not wearing a crown though, like, I don't know he's a prince!" Robbie joked.

The X-Files star once found himself seated next to the royal at a concert. During the show, the band All Saints performed their hit song "Booty Call."

"I saw Charles looking kind of perplexed," Duchovny said on The Late Late Show with James Corden. "And he said … 'Booty call?' And I said, 'Well, I can explain it to you, it's a little off-color, but I can do it.' And he said, 'Yes, please.' "

"I said, 'Well, it's when a man or a woman calls a man or a woman to come to their home late at night for the express purpose of getting together and then leaving right afterwards. And he said, 'Oh.' "

Janney met both the Prince and Princess of Wales at the BAFTAs in 2018. The actress had taken off her painful heels prior to being introduced to the royals, who were then awaiting the birth of their third child, Prince Louis.

"I did meet Kate and William, and she was in her heels and pregnant, so I felt like a bit of a wimp that I was there in my bare feet," Janney said on The Late Late Show. "I told her that I was in bare feet and I told her that she should take her shoes off 'cause she's pregnant. It was an awkward moment. I called her 'honey,' and that might not have been royal protocol."

Trust a legend like Williams to be the first person to capture Princess Kate on Snapchat.

The tennis champ filmed a selfie video with the princess during Wimbledon 2016. "When I saw her, I wanted to take a picture with her. But then I was like, 'Should I do a picture or a Snapchat video?' Obviously, I opted to do that and it was fun!" she told PEOPLE about nabbing the rare footage.

During the encounter, Williams did something even more shocking: Ask the royal about her famous sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

"She was surprised that I asked her about her ring and she was like, 'You know?' And I'm like, 'Everyone in America knows about your ring!' She was like, 'Wow,' " Williams said, adding, "She was super sweet, super level, so beautiful — she was really nice."

In 2013, the Reputation singer attended a charity event at Kensington Palace. As Jon Bon Jovi performed a classic song, Prince William escorted her to the stage to join in on the fun.

"Jon Bon Jovi was about to sing 'Livin On a Prayer,' and he kinda pointed at Prince William and said something like, 'I hear you like to do this at karaoke night, karaoke boy,' " Swift shared on The Graham Norton Show.

"He starts the song and Prince William looks over at me and says like, 'I don't remember it now, it's all gone now,' kinda freaking out a little bit. And he just looks at me and he's like, you gotta go with me," she continued. "I died."

Apparently, even royalty get anxious about their favorite fantasy characters' fates.

The couple met Tom Wlaschiha, who played Jaqen H'ghar on Game of Thrones, during a 2017 trip to Germany.

"They said they really liked Game of Thrones and have watched every [season]," Wlaschiha revealed. "They wanted spoilers, but I said I couldn't tell them. I'm surprised they have time to watch such a long-running series."

William and Kate had previously told BBC Radio 1 listeners that they like to relax by ordering takeout and watching their favorite shows, including GOT and Homeland.

While interviewing one another for LOVE magazine, the Suicide Squad costars decided to play a prank on their high-profile contact (Robbie was actually aware of his identity this time).

Delevingne suggested they both text Prince Harry at the same time, both of them saying they'd had a dream about him the night before.

The royal — engaged to Meghan Markle at the time — caught onto their games, responding, "You two are obviously together. But I'm extremely glad I was in your dreams."
