Reese Witherspoon Announces Second Hello Sunshine Event This Fall: 'We're Thrilled to Go Bigger and Bolder'

If you're wondering where some of the most driven and creative women in the country will be on October 5th and 6th, they're likely to be found at Reese Witherspoon's upcoming experiential event Shine Away, Connected by AT&T, which is returning to Los Angeles.

The event, which had its inaugural event in 2023 and will be held at nya studios in L.A., is tied to Witherspoon's media company Hello Sunshine (now part of Candle Media), and consists of programming and activations aimed at empowering women to "reclaim their joy, connect with their passions, and discover valuable tools to transform their lives."

“After such a phenomenal marquee event, we’re thrilled to go bigger and bolder for our second Shine Away," Witherspoon said in a press release.

"We’re dedicated to creating a space where storytellers, creatives, thought-leaders, brands, and fans can come together to tell the stories that matter most to them and find their joy."

She continued, “Beyond delivering a fun and inclusive experience, we want to motivate all attendees to think beyond the weekend. Whether they are launching a business or looking for like-minded book enthusiasts, we hope to provide a springboard for women to create the life they truly deserve.”

Of course, Witherspoon is the poster child for developing a career outside of just acting — something she's successfully done for years.

In 2000, she launched the production company Type A films, which produced films based off of bestsellers (and personal favorites) like Wild and and Gone Girl, as well as the HBO series Big Little Lies.

In 2016, she launched the full scale media company Hello Sunshine, which was also focused on telling female-driven stories.

She's also the founder of the clothing chain Draper James, and recently launched a co-working and networking space in Nashville.

Suffice it to say, Witherspoon, who is also a mom to three, is, like most women, extremely busy.

According to the release, the Shine Away event was created in response to the insight that women are facing unprecedented levels of burnout, and unable to find time to focus on themselves. Attendees will be provided with actionable tools for personal and professional growth — without losing their minds.

Last year's event included appearances and speeches by Jennifer Garner, Mindy Kaling, Tracee Ellis Ross, Allyson Felix, Kellyn Kenny, The Home Edit’s Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, Eve Rodsky, Hannah Bronfman, Dr. Becky, among more. This year's attendees will be announced in the coming months.
