He's aging like a fine wine — and we're not mad about it

Paul Rudd may finally be showing some signs of aging — proof that he is in fact human.

America's boyfriend, 54, has a touch of gray in his beard now, only deepening his universal appeal.

The actor made an appearance in London on Thursday with the cast of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire for a photocall and he showed off some serious salt-and-pepper scruff. His normally dark facial hair has now gone a bit gray, and we're fully prepared to crown him PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive again. (Yes, we know he just had the honor in 2021.)

As for the rest of his look, he wore his hair in a slightly grown-out wavy style and rocked a black shirt, black blazer and a pair of plaid trousers. A man after our style-loving hearts.

Rudd admitted to PEOPLE last year, though, that he wasn't always quite so stylish. The Clueless star, who grew up in Kansas, went through his own awkward phase in the 1980s when he was a teenager.

"I remember when the movie Pretty in Pink came out. I hadn't seen it, but people in my school said, 'I just saw this movie and there's a character named Duckie [Dale] and he totally reminded me of you,' " Rudd told PEOPLE.

He couldn't resist watching the movie to see what people were talking about and he immediately saw the resemblance between himself and Jon Cryer, who plays the character. At the time, he had an affinity for dressing much the same as Duckie, he said.

"I really embraced New Wave fashion. I did not dress like your typical Midwesterner," Rudd said, referring to the old-school maximalist aesthetic. "I really prided myself on the fact that I didn't own a pair of jeans."
