Valerie Bertinelli is sharing the less glamorous details behind the Oscars red carpet

The former Food Network star, her son Wolfgang Van Halen and his wife Andraia Allsop, all walked the 2024 Oscars red carpet, which was apparently more sweltering than it appeared.

Bertinelli re-posted a video of PEOPLE’s interview with the trio on Instagram with a hilariously honest caption. “Lol this red carpet was SO hot I’m surprised you can’t see the sweat dripping down our faces🥵” she wrote in the Story.

The Golden Globe-winning actress shared more behind-the-scenes photos from the big day, including a mirror selfie of her outfit before hitting the red carpet.

She wore an ivory power suit and sported a shiny blowout. Her suit was by designer Richard Tyler — and Bertinelli appeared to joke that it was "vintage" with a laughing emoji on her Instagram.

Bertinelli also shared a photo of herself, her son and his wife smiling as they took their seats in the iconic Dolby theater.

To close out her string of posts, the Hot in Cleveland star posted a video of herself at the front of the Oscars stage before more A-listers arrived.

Sunday was a big day for her son. The Mammoth WVH frontman attended the Oscars as a nominee as he plays guitar on "I'm Just Ken," which was nominated for Best Original Song. The Barbie song was performed by Ryan Gosling during the awards ceremony.

While speaking with PEOPLE on the carpet, Bertinelli expressed her pride for her son.

"I'm excited! I'm here to support Wolfie, the Barbie movie, because Wolfie's all throughout it. He did a lot of work with [soundtrack producer] Mark [Ronson] for two days, and I'm really proud of him so I want to support him," she gushed. "And the movie was kickass, so we're just going to say that."

She said she gets a thrill every time she watches the Greta Gerwig-led film. "It's so fun because I watch the movie and I hear Wolfie all throughout the chase scene, I hear Wolfie all throughout the Ken fight scene, and it's just like, 'That's my boy!'" she said.

Van Halen said going to the award show was "a magical night."

"I'm happy to be here, very happy to be part of this and support my buddy Mark," he added.
