To kick off the first episode of her new eponymous talk show, Drew Barrymore welcomed her Charlie's Angels costars and real-life pals Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu as her first guests on The Drew Barrymore Show (although Diaz appeared remotely from Los Angeles via TV magic).

"I couldn't begin this journey without two women who have been a part of my heart for over 20 years. We are friends, we are fellow angels," Barrymore began.

"The thing that I love about our friendship is that we have been there in all the big and important moments, we've also been there in the small moments and the casual moments and the reason we are such good friends is because it's real and we go through real stuff with each other. It's not a Hollywood fairytale," she added about their two-decade bond.

No Shoes, No Problem

Explaining the back story of the frame-worthy photo, Barrymore wrote on Instagram, "It was the NYC premier of Charlie's Angels 2 and I had hired an old school bus with Christmas lights and hanging rubber chickens to take us there! And I was like 'Trust me! This is going to be so fun to show up in!' And then it broke down! Literally 'smoking from the hood' broke," she shared. "And so we walked the rest of the way. But not before I grabbed the champers and said 'well this is good too' and off to our fun evening we went. And we're all still peas in a pod."

A Star Is Born

The girls reunited to celebrate Liu receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May 2019.

"My dear Angels, it's a 20-year reunion," Liu said during the ceremony, as she looked over at her friends. "20 years ago we were an elite crime-fighting team, and now look at us."
