Kate Beckinsale Mourns Cat Clive One Year After His Passing: ‘Love of My Life’

Kate Beckinsale pays tribute to her late cat, Clive.

On Wednesday, June 12, the Guilty Party star, 50, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram in honor of her late cat, marking one year since his death. 

"Fly high my best angel on your one year anniversary. Oh my heart Clive I miss you. Not a soul like you. Love of my life 🤍,” she wrote in the Instagram tribute.

The actress’ post also included 10 videos of her sweet cat, beginning with a video of Beckinsale crouching down to the floor as she wore a black organza gown. Clive peeked out from beneath her skirt, and Beckinsale gave the camera a cheeky grin.

She followed up the first video with a few more of the two of them playing around her house. One video included Beckinsale roller skating around her home while Clive rested in her arms. Another captured the actress massaging his fluffy face as she serenaded him.

Beckinsale also included a reenactment of the iconic Dirty Dancing “Love Is Strange” scene, posing as Jennifer Grey and Clive dutifully playing Patrick Swayze.

She included two more clips, in which she serenaded the cat with Barbara Dickson and Elaine Paige’s “I Know Him So Well” as Clive peacefully slept on the couch next to her. Another showcased him simply sitting in the middle of her kitchen as Beckinsale sang Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” to her stoic cat.

Beckinsale also shared videos of her and Clive relaxing around her home. One video, in particular, included the cat resting on his owner's legs as she relaxed on a pool float. Meanwhile, another included the two in tiaras and tulle outfits.

Beckinsale also posted several photos of her late cat to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, many of which were behind-the-scenes looks at the videos she previously shared.

At the time of Clive's death, she announced the news by writing, "Clive has died. I don't have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet. Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it."

Two months later, she honored her cat and got a tattoo of her beloved pet's likeness. The black ink design—which depicts the feline's face with a series of stars around it—was placed on the inside of her forearm.
