Liam Hemsworth Smooches Eiza Gonzalez Days After Split with Miley Cyrus

Well, that was quick.

Just a day after it was announced that his engagement with Miley Cyrus was over, Liam Hemsworth wasn’t just spotted flirting with a new gal: he was caught in a passionate lip-lock with Mexican actress and singer Eiza Gonzalez.

The two had met over the weekend in Las Vegas, where Hemsworth, 23, attended Saturday night’s Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez fight at the MGM Grand. Later that night at Hakkasan, he and Gonzalez, 23, were seen flirting into the early morning hours.

The next night, they were spotted at XS nightclub before returning to Hakkasan, where they seemed “coupley,” according to an onlooker.

But whatever happened in Vegas apparently did not stay in Vegas as the two were spotted kissing in L.A. two days later.

So how does Gonzalez stack up to Hemsworth’s ex? Like Cyrus, 20, Gonzalez is a singer and actress. She started her career on the Mexican soap opera Lola, Once Upon a Time and is also a platinum-selling singer (in 2009, she won a Nuestro Award for best new artist of the year).

She is also newly on the market: according to People en Espanol, she ended a long-term relationship with Mexican businessman Pepe Diaz this summer. An April profile of her by the magazine revealed a few other choice tidbits: she loves family (her father died in a motorcycle crash when she was 12), fashion, reading and traveling.

So what’s next for Gonzalez and Hemsworth? On Wednesday Gonzalez was spotted in a floral dress and over-sized sunglasses enjoying a French Riviera-inspired lunch at West Hollywood’s Fig & Olive Melrose Place. She happily chatted with two girlfriends while dining on a crostini sampling, octopus a la Gallega, beef carpaccio, shrimp & salmon salad, truffle risotto and paella del mar.

Thursday, the new couple will be parting ways, at least for a little while. She will be in Mexico promoting the Spanish-language DVD release of The Croods, for which she did a Spanish voice over, while Liam is in Atlanta, where the next installment of The Hunger Games is being filmed.
