Brittany Mahomes Says She Only Had One Week to Prepare for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Shoot

Brittany Mahomes had to snap into action for her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photoshoot.

In a Thursday, May 30 Instagram post, the 28-year-old NFL WAG and 2024 SI Rookie revealed that she only had one week's notice before the skin-bearing tropical shoot in Belize.

"People have asked me a lot what I did in the gym to get 'Swimsuit Ready," she wrote in the caption of the post, which was a partnership with OWYN protein. "Fun fact - I shot for @si_swimsuit on literally a week’s notice 🤪"

Luckily, the former soccer star keeps herself in tip-top shape all year long, so she didn't sweat it to much.

"I always preach that staying consistent in the gym and fueling my body well is what helps me be the best version of myself year-round, not just during swimsuit season!" she continued in the caption.

Brittany also shared some of her go-to leg workouts that helped her tone up for the shoot, including single-leg deadlifts and banded hip thrusts.

In February 2024, before the Super Bowl where her husband, Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs won against the San Francisco 49ers, the Texas native was revealed as SI Swimsuit’s latest 2024 Rookie. The announcement came with a look at her swim shoot, which is included in the magazine’s 60th anniversary issue which hit stands on May 17.

In the photos, Brittany wears a variety of sexy swimwear, including a Mugler halter-neck one-piece featuring a massive cutout and a bikini topped with a knitted cowboy hat, an nod to her roots.

On Tuesday, May 14, the day SI's milestone 60th anniversary issue was unveiled, the mom of two shared a behind-the-scenes look into the photoshoot.

“A moment for @si_swimsuit launch day😊🫶” she captioned an Instagram video montage, which features clips of the star arriving to Belize in a pink matching sweatsuit, getting dolled up in the hair and makeup chair and posing in a variety of red-hot swimsuits.

In a statement, SI Swim’s editor in chief MJ Day shared that Brittany was selected for the magazine because she’s the “epitome of a modern-day powerhouse.” 

Day added, “Brittany’s journey has surpassed all expectations, inspiring others with her tenacity and unyielding determination.”
