Jason Sheeler is People’s Deputy West Coast Editor, where he writes cover stories and features across all content verticals. He also launched and edits the annual LGBTQ+ Pride Issue — this year starring Elliot Page — and is the creator and co-host of the brand's nostalgia podcast, PEOPLE in the '90s. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Sheeler previously served in senior editorial positions at Departures, Entertainment Weekly, Glamour, and Texas Monthly and his work has also appeared in The New York Times, Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, Better Homes & Gardens, and The Hollywood Reporter. Sheeler grew up in Arkansas and, incidentally, his first job was answering fan mail for Bill and Hillary Clinton’s cat, Socks, from the basement of the White House as an intern.

Sheeler previously served in senior editorial positions at Departures, Entertainment Weekly, Glamour, and Texas Monthly and his work has also appeared in The New York Times, Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, and The Hollywood Reporter. Sheeler has a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design/The New School and worked in design before journalism.
