$50K Reward Offered After Melrose Letter Carrier Robbed At Gunpoint

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects in the case

MELROSE, MA — Authorities are offering a reward of up to $50,000 after a letter carrier was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend in Melrose, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service announced Monday night.

The Postal Inspection Service’s Boston office said the robbery took place in the area of Orchard Lane in Melrose around 3 p.m. on Saturday. Two armed suspects fled the scene on foot, officials said.

The Postal Inspection Service on Monday shared a photo of the suspects as part of a reward poster.

The Postal Inspection Service separately shared video captured from a home security camera that officials said showed the suspects approaching and running away from the scene of the crime.

Anyone with information on this incident can contact the Postal Inspection Service at 1-(877)-876-2455, say "law enforcement" and provide the reference number for this case — 3927109. Information will be kept confidential, officials said on Monday.

Officials said community members should not take any action to apprehend the suspects themselves.

The Postal Inspection Service said it is investigating this case alongside the Melrose Police Department. It is offering its reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.

Armed robbery is a federal offense carrying a possible sentence of up to 25 years in prison.
