Man Dies Of Accidental Knife Wound, Found In Restaurant Parking Lot: Police

SAUGUS, MA — A man died after suffering an accidental knife wound in the parking lot of a Saugus restaurant, according to authorities.

Patrick Kenny Jr., 42, of Milton, was found injured after 9 p.m. Saturday outside Kowloon in the 900 block of Broadway, authorities said. He was pronounced dead a short time later at Massachusetts General Hospital.

“This incident appears to be accidental, and no additional parties are believed to be involved,” Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker and Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli said in a prepared statement.

Kenney’s father described the death as a freak accident and said Kenney has a wife and two young children, according to WCVB.

The owners of Kowloon offered their thoughts and prayers to the family, the outlet reported. An employee said the restaurant stayed open after the incident, according to WCVB.

The parking lot injury occurred less than two weeks after a brawl last month at the business in which four people face charges, WCVB reported.
