Braintree 4th Of July Festivities Announced

This year's parade grand marshall, food trucks and schedule of events for the upcoming festivities have all been revealed.

BRAINTREE, MA — The Fourth of July is quickly approaching, and Braintree's July 4th Celebration Committee have officially rolled up their lineup of events, vendors and more for the upcoming celebration.

Scheduled for June 29, the committee will host the 51st annual celebration that includes the Stars & Stripes Parade, fireworks spectacular, live entertainment and food trucks.

The day starts with the parade at 11:45 a.m. It will take off from 10 Plain St. and proceed north on Hancock Street onto Washington Street through South Braintree Square, ending at the Hollis School.

This year's Grand Marshall will be Marta Googins who has served as the chair of the Braintree Housing Authority and Marge Crispin Center board of directors.

The events then move to Braintree High School starting at 4 p.m., where there will be over 20 food trucks, live music and other activities.

"This is one of the best days of the year as we kick off the start of summer," said Braintree July 4th Celebration Committee chair Sean Power.

"The Committee has worked hard to offer something for everyone to enjoy in the festivities. We look forward to seeing residents both older and young come together to celebrate all that we love about our community and country."
