Who’s Madonna’s rumored boyfriend? Meet ‘Summer House’ boxing coach Josh Popper
Madonna’s got a real knockout on her hands.
On March, 1, 2023, news broke that the “Material Girl” singer, 64, was reportedly dating hunky boxing coach Josh Popper, 29.
However, despite both of them posting photos snuggled up to one another on Instagram, sources tell Page Six the rumored romance is just for show.
Friends close to the twosome told us that the photos were simply a ploy to help Popper gain publicity for his boxing gym and that Madge “isn’t looking for love at the moment.”
Still, the source noted, “That’s not to rule out any romance in the future — but for now things are strictly platonic.”
News of the fling comes just one month after Madonna and model Andrew Darnell called off their “very casual” relationship.
While sources told us at the time that the songstress was “having a bit of a crisis of confidence,” it looks like she may be getting her spark back.

He’s a boxing instructor in NYC
Popper reportedly met the Grammy-award winner through her son David, whom he has been training at his gym, Bredwinners, in New York City.
Not only is Popper a boxing instructor, but he’s also an up-and-coming fighter himself. In fact, the 6’4,” 240lb heavyweight is slated to fight in the Ring Masters Tournament semi-finals on March 3, 2023.
According to Popper’s biography on the Bredwinner’s website, he is a “lifelong athlete and a full-time coach.”
“For Josh, boxing isn’t just about teaching you to move in the ring but teaching you how to move throughout life.”
He appeared in an episode of “Summer House”
Popper made a cameo on the Feb. 27, 2023, episode of “Summer House,” marking it his reality TV debut.
Samantha Feher invited the boxer, who was also training her at the time, to hang out with the cast while they partied in the Hamptons. Yet, after testing the waters, Feher wrote off the possibility of a romantic connection with Popper, who didn’t seem very interested in the reality TV star.
He was an NFL prospect
Before Popper took up boxing, he was was a talented defensive end for Rowan University with sights on making it to the NFL.
After graduating in 2015, he briefly joined the Arizona Cardinals for training camp but was ultimately cut from the roster before the season began.
Soon after, he was picked up by the Indianapolis Colts but was also released from the team.
In between his boxing endeavors and the end of his football career, Popper paid the bills by selling insurance for New York Life.
He is from New Jersey
Popper was born and raised in New Jersey. He grew up in Southern Jersey’s Egg Harbor Township before heading to college one hour away in Glassboro.
It’s unclear whether or not Popper, who leads a relatively low-key lifestyle, commutes every day from Jersey or lives in Manhattan near his gym in the Flatiron district.
