Brooke Shields’ dating history: From Liam Neeson to Chris Henchy

Brooke Shields bares it all in her documentary, “Pretty Baby.”

In the two-part film, which hit Hulu in 2023 and is titled after her 1978 movie of the same name, the actress gets candid about her decades in the spotlight, including her many high-profile relationships.

From the King of Pop to award-winning actors, here are all the men Shields has been linked to over the years.

Shields’ first public relationship was with Scott Baio. While the teen stars seemed like an ideal match, the “Blue Lagoon” star wrote in her 2015 memoir, “There Was a Little Girl,” that their dates were for show.

The “Charles in Charge” alum has also admitted that Shields was “just a friend.”

John Travolta (1981)

Shields’ mother, Teri, reportedly played matchmaker for her daughter, who was 16 at the time, and John Travolta, who was 27.

The model and the “Grease” star remained platonic but developed an affection for each other.

“Brooke exudes goodness,” Travolta told People at the time. “She’s untainted. You don’t want anyone to hurt her or say the wrong things because she’s special.”

Dean Cain (1980s)

Shields and Dean Cain dated while they were both students at Princeton University.

In her documentary, she recalled losing her virginity to the “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” alum when she was 22 years old.

Shields admitted that she initially felt “regret” about how she first had sex and “immediately ran out of the room butt naked” after the encounter.

“I feel bad for that girl. She was old enough to own her own body for real. And … just I couldn’t get there at that moment.”

Michael Jackson (1980s to 1990s)

Shields met Michael Jackson in 1981 when they were both teenagers.

While rumors surfaced of the actress and the “Thriller” singer dating, she insisted that they were only friends.

“We just felt safe with each other. We watched movies and ate candy and laughed at the craziness around us. … We loved each other, but it was not at all romantic,” she once said.

“We were like two little kids. From the day we met, we saw something of ourselves in each other.”

Jackson even brought Shields as his date to Elizabeth Taylor’s 1991 wedding.

The longtime friends ultimately fell out after the pop icon claimed they were dating during his appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 1993.

In her documentary, Shields shared that Jackson’s mother, Katherine, asked her to speak at his memorial following his 2009 death.

Once Shields graduated from college, she began dating Liam Neeson.

“I was so impressed with going out with a real movie star,” she wrote in her memoir. “We got serious after only three months. He asked me to marry him without a ring.”

However, their romance ultimately ended, and the “Taken” star moved on with Natasha Richardson, to whom he was married from 1994 to 2009.

Andre Agassi (1993-1999)

Shields and Andre Agassi met in 1993 and began dating over fax.

“We began to communicate via long rambling faxes about life and God and the strange burden of fame and overpowering parents,” she wrote in her memoir.

“We knew somewhere deep inside that we needed each other.”

The couple tied the knot in 1997 but divorced two years later. Shields revealed in her memoir that they split over the tennis pro’s crystal meth addiction — which he initially hid from her during the first part of their relationship.

The “Endless Love” actress also shared that Agassi would have jealous tantrums and was upset at a scene she filmed for “Friends” in which she had to lick the fingers of Joey Tribbiani (played by Matt LeBlanc).

“It was petulant behavior,” she told the New Yorker of Agassi’s response. “It co-opted [‘Friends’] for me emotionally because all of a sudden then my focus went to him.”

After ending her marriage to Agassi, Shields’ friendship with producer Chris Henchy evolved into a romantic relationship.

She and the film director tied the knot in 2001 in a surprise ceremony in Marina del Rey, Calif.

They welcomed their first daughter, Rowan, in 2003 and their second, Grier, in 2006.

After Rowan’s arrival, Shields said she began experiencing an intense bout of postpartum depression; however, Henchy was supportive of his wife through her dark periods.

“Thank God he was so understanding,” she wrote in her 2005 book, “Down Came the Rain.”

“I know I wouldn’t have been able to continue if he’d been any less patient.”
