Huma Abedin’s ‘classic’ engagement ring from Alex Soros could be worth around $1M

Huma Abedin’s going with the classics.

As Page Six exclusively reported earlier this week, Hillary Clinton’s former aide is engaged to billionaire Alex Soros, who popped the question with a truly jaw-dropping diamond ring.

Abedin, 47, flashed her fresh bling Wednesday while grabbing dinner with pal Anna Wintour, and experts tell Page Six Style the impressive sparkler could easily be worth six figures.

Mike Fried of The Diamond Pro estimates the center stone’s size at around 12 carats.

“Finding a beautiful diamond of that size is incredibly rare. I imagine the ring was custom-designed and cost an estimated $1.3 million, but possibly more, depending on the quality of the stone,” he said.

“The ring is a perfect balance of modern and classic — giving Huma a timeless ring that suits her style.”

Ajay Anand, CEO of Rare Carat, puts the ring’s size at closer to 9 carats, telling us it’s “a classic look that’s the perfect complement to Huma’s personal style. Nothing but the absolute best for a Soros, Alex likely spent over $1 million on this stunner.”

Olivia Landau, founder and CEO of The Clear Cut, estimates the stunning rock’s value at around $500,000.

She and Soros, 38 — who first publicized their relationship on Valentine’s Day this year and made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala in May — confirmed their engagement with a joint post on Instagram.

“this happened…we couldn’t be happier, more grateful, or more in love ❤️ 😍 💍,” they captioned a photo of the investor on one knee.

It seems Soros may have been inspired by current and former power players when selecting the perfect ring for his fiancée.

“It’s a classic Clinton world couple. Alex is the perfect match for Huma. He’s insanely wealthy and powerful — everything that Huma cares about,” a former senior Clinton aide told Page Six.

A democratic donor added, “Huma always wanted to be whatever the American version of royalty is.”

Her ring certainly rivals those of Hollywood and political royalty like Elizabeth Taylor, Lauren Sánchez and Amal Clooney, all of whom accepted similarly shaped sparklers with equally eye-popping price tags.

Taylor’s 33.19-carat, Asscher-cut diamond ring from Richard Burton is the stuff of jewelry legend, while Jeff Bezos popped the question to Sánchez with an extremely rare pink diamond estimated to be worth $2.5 million and weigh in at around 20 carats.

And George Clooney helped design humanitarian lawyer Amal’s 7-carat ring, which features an ethically mined emerald-cut diamond flanked by two baguette stones.

One thing’s for sure: Abedin’s enormous rock will certainly hold up against these heavy hitters’.
