Melania Trump hosts Trump Tower penthouse fundraiser for Log Cabin Republicans, raises $1.4M

Former — and possibly future — first lady Melania Trump “stunned all in attendance” at a Trump Tower fund-raiser this week, wearing a “fire engine red Valentino dress with appliqué flowers in the same fabric and Christian Louboutin pumps,” said a spy.

Melania hosted an intimate gathering of megadonors at her and her husband’s penthouse to drum up donations to the Log Cabin Republicans, the conservative LGBT group. A guest told us, “Hors d’oeuvres and Champagne flowed as the first lady generously welcomed the guests to her home with off-the-cuff remarks,” highlighting her and Donald Trump’s support for the group.

The event, which immediately followed a fund-raiser at the Fifth Avenue home of Duke and Hannah Buchan, raked in over $1.4 million.

A source said, “Both events were sold out in a short period of time,” and at each of them Melania was “elegant and eloquent. She took the time to speak with everyone.”

It was the first campaign event of the year at the Trumps’ personal residence, and was Melania’s second solo appearance in support of her husband’s presidential campaign, after she hosted an LCR event at Mar-a-Lago in April.

Attendees included Kellyanne Conway, ex-Sen. Kelly Loeffler, former cabinet member Ric Grenell, Nazee Moinian, former diplomats Georgette Mosbacher and John Rakolta and his wife, Terry, Bill White and Bryan Eure, former US Attorney General Matt Whitaker and Melania’s stylist Hervé Pierre.

A guest told us: “Melania took photos and gave a beautiful speech about the importance of unity. She also said about the election, ‘We will see what happens, but, we must win.’ ”

The funds raised go to an outreach initiative for swing-state voters, namely suburban women, and gay and lesbian conservatives in battleground states. The event set a fund-raising record for the LCR, according to its president, Charles Moran.
