‘Bachelorette’ alum Rachel Lindsay’s ex Bryan Abasolo claims he needs $16K a month in spousal support amid divorce
“Bachelorette” alum Rachel Lindsay’s estranged husband, Bryan Abasolo, is reportedly asking for $16,000 in monthly spousal support after she blasted him for exaggerating a pricey lifestyle.
In court documents obtained by TMZ Wednesday, Abasalo claims the $9,882 the reality star is offering to pay him will not allow him to have anything extra in the bank to maintain his marital standard of living.
“After I pay monthly expenses, there is nothing left,” Abasolo, 44, argues in the filing, saying his bills eat up all the profits from his chiropractor business.
Reps for both parties did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Abasolo’s spousal support demand comes after Lindsay, 39, claimed he was grossly exaggerating their lifestyle in his January divorce petition.
“I am not flush with cash, as he believes me to be,” she wrote in her June response, which was obtained by Page Six. “And I certainly cannot pay his attorney $75,000 to litigate our uncomplicated divorce. If I did so, I would not have sufficient funds remaining to pay my own counsel.”
She further claimed she has “approximately $88,500 in non-retirement funds” and that most of her income since 2023 has come from the “Higher Learning” podcast she co-hosts with Van Lathan.
Although she may be considered a content creator or influencer, she claimed her social media deals are “sporadic.”
Lindsay recently revealed she and Abasolo never signed a prenup because their finances were similar going into their marriage.
The pair tied the knot in August 2019 after meeting on Season 13 of “The Bachelorette.” The chiropractor filed for divorce right after the New Year.
In his recent court filing, he accused the media personality of lying about being blindsided by his desire to formally end their union.
Just days after he submitted the court docs, the former lawyer said on her podcast that the breakup was “difficult” and that she was “just trying to take it day by day.”
Despite the split being a hard transition, Lindsay admitted on a December 2023 episode of “The Viall Files” podcast that she and Abasolo were living “totally different lives.”
After explaining that their professional lives are vastly different, she added that they’re in “two totally different places.”
