‘Teen Mom’ star Amber Portwood, fiancé Gary Wayt end engagement after his disappearance: report

Amber Portwood and Gary Wayt have ended their engagement following his headline-making disappearance.

“They’ve decided that it’s over between them and their engagement is off,” a source told Us Weekly. “They have too much to overcome to move forward together.”

The insider noted that the “Teen Mom” alum has gotten “some closure” and maintained Wayt isn’t “ghosting her,” but acknowledged that the pair’s engagement caused “tension” within his family.

“Gary’s family was looking her up online and looking at her past and not everything they saw online was true,” the insider added, “and it was hard for Amber because she’s been trying so hard to move past it and move forward.”

A rep for Portwood didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Wayt, 39, disappeared earlier this month prompting the MTV alum, 34, to speak out and report the mystery to the police.

“This is a huge deal, his parents, everybody is very worried. I am worried,” the MTV star said in an emotional video posted to YouTube Wednesday.

“There was not a big blowout fight or anything like that, OK. He is a missing person right now.”

Portwood denied reports that she and Wayt had gotten into an “explosive” fight before his disappearance, maintaining that she and her then-fiancé were “very in love.” She did, however, note that Wayt has “mental health issues” but did not disclose any details.

Wayt was later spotted in surveillance footage recorded in Oklahoma — hundreds of miles away from North Carolina where was last been seen with Portwood.

On Friday, June 14, the Bryson City Police Department announced on Facebook that Wayt was “located” and the case was officially “closed,” but they did not share any additional information.

Portwood hasn’t spoken out since Wayt returned home, but she did wipe him from her Instagram account.
