Brooke Shields swaps heels for yellow Crocs on Tony Awards 2024 red carpet

She certainly made a statement.

Brooke Shields made a bold fashion choice while walking the Tony Awards 2024 red carpet on Sunday night, trading her typical high heels for a comfortable pair of Crocs.

The bright yellow pair, which retail for $50, perfectly coordinated with the actress’ sequined and bow-embellished Monique Lhullier gown, and she couldn’t help but show them off as she made her way inside the awards show.

While Shields’ is no stranger to having fun with her clothes, there was a more practical reason for her not-so-fancy footwear.

Last week, the “Mother of the Bride” star took to Instagram to share that she had undergone “Double foot toe surgery,” posting a picture of her feet bandaged up and joking in the caption that “the feet pics are about to level up.”

“Those little guys have been throooouuuugh it!” friend and fellow actress Courteney Cox commented on the photo.

Selma Blair shared a similar sentiment. “Your dear bones. And all,” she wrote before adding a “❤️‍🩹.”

Still, it seems that Shields is having a somewhat speedy recovery. Not only did she happily pose for the cameras, putting her Crocs on full display, she also graced the stage while announcing a performance by Nicole Scherzinger, with the star taking the stage to perform “What I Did for Love” from “A Chorus Line” for the Tony’s In Memoriam tribute.

While Shields might have skipped the stilettos for the night, it’s worth noting that she did have them elsewhere on her body — in the form of a tattoo.

This past Mother’s Day, the mom of two got matching ink with her 18-year-old daughter, Grier, choosing a sweet design of a mother and child wearing high-heels.

Let’s hope the actress is back in her stilettos soon enough.
