Paris Hilton sparks moms’ concerns after son wears life jacket backwards in swimming video

Paris Hilton set off alarm bells for several parents who viewed a TikTok video of her swimming with her 1-year-old son, Phoenix, after they noticed his puddle jumper — which is a kids’ life jacket — was on wrong.

“Adventures with Baby P,” the “Simple Life” alum, 43, captioned the clip Sunday of her carrying her toddler while he splashed around at a hotel pool wearing a blue floatie that covered his back and arms.

“Hey momma just a tip from another puddle jumper mom i think it’s on backwards. But i love this video pure joy,” one fan commented, receiving more than 800 “likes.”

Another person also chimed, “The little life jacket is backwards,” before encouraging the new mom, “but you are an amazing mother!!! Enjoy every moment.”

Fellow moms voiced their concerns after Paris Hilton shared a video of her swimming with her son, Phoenix.
The parents pointed out that the toddler’s life jacket — also called a puddle jumper — was on backwards.
However, fans were not too harsh on the heiress, still reminding her, “You are an amazing mother!”

A third reassured the heiress that the mixup is common, adding, “He’s [sic] floaties are on backwards the clip goes in the back 🥰but also happens to lots of new moms.”

A fourth person, who claimed to be a swimming instructor, advised, “Swimming teacher here, see if you can swap the puddle jumper for a float jacket. Gives him the use of his arms to aide his swim journey ❤️.”

Hilton has not responded to the remarks of concern and shared in a separate TikTok video Sunday that her young son is fine, as they both enjoyed wandering around a beach together.

The “Paris In Love” star — who first welcomed Phoenix via surrogate with husband Carter Reum in January 2023 and later had a daughter, London, that November — has owned her parental shortcomings.

A swim teacher advised Hilton that perhaps a floatie jacket would be better for her son than a puddle jumper.
It does not appear that Hilton has acknowledged the feedback yet on social media.

Earlier this month, Hilton sparked safety concerns after she showed off her young son and 6-month-old daughter’s car seats via social media — but they happened to be facing forward, which is against the law.

One person wrote at the time, “Please dble chk [sic] the car seat manu’s recs on if you can use the latch & belt at the same time. Usually hard no. Also, rear facing until 2ys is usually law.”

Hilton took the feedback in stride and wrote alongside a clip of her children correctly strapped into her vehicle, “Thanks for the mom advice, I’m new to this.”

The “Stars Are Blind” singer added, “The #CutesieCrew is now ready for take off in the #SlivingMom van.”

She also wrote in the comments section at the time, “No one is perfect.”

Last week, Hilton vowed to be a strict parent when her kids are older.

The “Fame Won’t Love You” singer told the Wall Street Journal she plans to monitor their cell phones and social media use closely.

She said, “I hope that they are nerds like their dad and don’t want anything to do with that.”
