Emma Corrin divides social media by showing off armpit hair on Harper’s Bazaar cover

Emma Corrin proudly showed off their body hair on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar.

Emma Corrin is glowing — and growing — on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar.

The star of Netflix’s “The Crown,” who is nonbinary and uses “they/them” pronouns, struck a powerful pose in Miu Miu underwear and a matching tank top for the magazine’s June/July 2024 Freedom Issue.

But it was Corrin’s visible armpit hair that drew the most feedback by far.

“Shave please…it’s not about human’s rights…it’s about self hygiene,” one critic commented on an Instagram post of the cover shared by both Corrin and Harper’s Bazaar.

“Im [sic] sorry, but the hairy underarm trend is like “fetch” from Mean Girls….stop trying to make it happen…it’s never gonna happen,” another opined.

Wrote a third, “How far fashion covers have slipped.”

People took to the comments section on Instagram to share their thoughts, with one person telling Corrin to “shave please.”
A number of commenters came to Corrin’s defense, with one writing, “Can’t wait for everyone who is going to be upset by the hair that naturally grows in everyone’s armpits.”

Others couldn’t help but point out the double standard at play, and were confused as to why people were so pressed about Corrin showing off their underarm fuzz.

“Can’t wait for everyone who is going to be upset by the hair that naturally grows in everyone’s armpits,” writer Chrissy Rutherford commented.

“Men with hairy armpits telling women to shave theirs because of hygiene…the irony,” another added.

The 28-year-old is set to star in the third “Deadpool” movie, out this July.
The star of “The Crown” modeled several Miu Miu looks for the spread.

“So, according to the comments, women are ‘unhygienic’ if they don’t shave, but no one would bat an eye if it were a man? Um, ok,” yet another wrote.

Chimed in one more, “Always blows my mind to see people losing theirs over body hair. All the horrific and evil things going on in the world and you’re concerned about someone’s shaving preferences.”

Elsewhere in their spread, Corrin modeled a floral Duran Lantink bikini, a sheer Coach minidress, a mesh Dolce & Gabbana bra styled with red Wolford tights and more eye-catching looks.

“Men with hairy armpits telling women to shave theirs because of hygiene…the irony,” one commenter wrote.
Speaking with the publication, Corrin questioned why they are considered “controversial,” adding that they believed it was due to “fear.”

The risk-taking style star, who plays supervillain Cassandra Nova in the newest “Deadpool” movie, touched on the ups and downs of life in the spotlight when speaking with the publication.

“People follow me because they’ve watched something I’m in. They think I’m one kind of person, and then they’ll see who I actually am and how I present and—” they said, trailing off for a moment. “I will never understand why. Who are you hurting by being yourself? Why am I controversial?”

The answer, according to Corrin, is “fear. Absolute fear.”

The only thing we’re scared of is missing Corrin in Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which is set to hit theaters on July 25.
