How to watch the 2024 Oscars without cable: Time, streaming, red carpet

With the Oscars nearly here, we’re in for a star-filled night.

The 2024 Academy Awards will bring countless A-listers to the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, with Jimmy Kimmel presiding as host for the fourth time.

And if you don’t have cable, fear not; there are plenty of ways to watch the stars of the silver screen on your small screen.

When are the 2024 Oscars?

The Academy Awards will air on Sunday, March 10 on ABC at 7 p.m. ET this year — an hour earlier than usual.

As for what to expect when this year’s show kicks off? “I just want to make sure for the people who are watching and the people who are there that we bring the proper amount of respect and also the proper amount of disrespect to the proceedings,” Kimmel told ABC News.

“I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times,” the comedian also quipped in a statement.

Plugged into pop culture but cutting the cord? The Oscars (and the preceding red carpet festivities on E!) are available to stream on live TV services like Sling Blue ($45/month $23/first month).

What movies are nominated for Oscars in 2024?

“Oppenheimer” leads this year’s nominations with a total of 13 nods, followed by “Poor Things” with 11 and “Barbie” with eight.

The contenders for best picture are “American Fiction,” “Anatomy of a Fall,” “Barbie,” “The Holdovers,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Maestro,” “Oppenheimer,” “Past Lives,” “Poor Things” and “The Zone of Interest.”
