Amy Schumer says ‘puffier’ face is due to autoimmune disease, endometriosis: ‘I feel strong and beautiful’

Amy Schumer hit back at fans commenting on her “puffier” face, telling them she has been grappling with an autoimmune disease and endometriosis.

“Thank you so much for everyone’s input about my face!” she sarcastically began a lengthy Instagram caption Thursday announcing the return of her Hulu show, “Life & Beth.”

“I’ve enjoyed feedback and deliberation about my appearance as all women do for almost 20 years. And you’re right it is puffier than normal right now.”

The “Trainwreck” star, 42, explained that she has “medical and hormonal things going on” but would be OK. However, she called out the fact that women’s bodies are more scrutinized than men’s.

“I also believe a woman doesn’t need any excuse for her physical appearance and owes no explanation,” Schumer continued. “But I wanted to take the opportunity to advocate for self love and acceptance of the skin you’re in.”

She added, “Like every other women/person some days I feel confident and good as hell and others I want to put a bag over my head.”

Despite her health woes, for which she already has had her uterus and appendix removed, Schumer said she feels “strong and beautiful” and wants to focus on the success of her show — not her appearance.
