Deborra-Lee Furness says ‘change’ is ‘frightening’ in first red carpet appearance since Hugh Jackman split
Deborra-Lee Furness has admitted that it’s been “frightening” adjusting to “change” in her life following her shocking split from Hugh Jackman.
“It is kind of exciting,” she told the Daily Telegraph at the premiere of her new movie, “Force of Nature: The Dry 2,” alongside co-star Eric Bana.
“You know what, change, transition, evolution is a little frightening and we are all a bit scared of it but I think it is probably our greatest gift.”
Furness, who ditched her wedding ring for the premiere, admitted that working on her new onscreen venture has kept her busy.
“There were so many appealing factors for me, a great script by Jane Harper and directed by Robert Connolly,” she said of the project.
“I love Eric and coming home to Australia to shoot in the wilds.”
Furness, 68, and Jackman, 55, announced in September they were calling time on their nearly three-decades-long romance.
“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the couple told People at the time.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority,” they shared.
“We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”
Despite the split, the exes still share a close bond and even celebrated Jackman’s 55th birthday together, Page Six exclusively revealed in October.

The pair first met in 1995 on the set of the Australian TV show “Correlli” and tied the knot the following year near Melbourne, Australia.
They went on to adopt two children: Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.
In the days leading up to the announcement, Furness was spotted walking around NYC sans her wedding ring.
For his part, Jackman also decided to forgo his wedding ring in the days after the pair’s split was made known.
