Jen Shah claims ‘RHOSLC’ production investigation found ‘nothing wrong’ with cast member calling son N-word
“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” alum Jen Shah claims a cast member called her son the N-word and that a production investigation found “nothing wrong” with the remark.
Shah — who starred on the Bravo reality show from 2020’s Season 1 to 2022’s Season 3 — told Page Six in an exclusive statement via her rep on Thursday, “A cast member of the show (on ‘RHOSLC’) called my child the N-Word, which I reported to Lisa Shannon and the rest of the Shed Media production team.”
Jen, who is of Tongan and Hawaiian descent, is married to Sharrieff Shah, who is black. They share two sons: Sharrieff Jr., 29, and Omar, 20.
“My husband was also gifted a bag of watermelon from [a former ‘friend of’ and current ‘Housewife’] during a scene,” Jen, who recently celebrated her 50th birthday from behind bars, went on.
The ex-Bravolebrity claimed that Shed Media, a division of Warner Bros. Unscripted Television, “investigated” the alleged incidents but “found nothing wrong with [her] son being called the N-Word and the watermelon being given to [her] husband.”
In response, a rep for Shed Media told Page Six in a statement, “We strongly disagree with Mrs. Shah’s characterization of events. Consistent with our internal guidelines, we decline to comment on confidential investigations.”
We’re told Shed Media “acted on its own initiative” to investigate upon seeing something on Jen’s Instagram page but never received additional complaints regarding the watermelon.
Jen, who is currently serving time in federal prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, did not reveal which cast member made the alleged comment or to which son.

Reps for Bravo and NBCUniversal did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Jen’s allegations against the networks’ production companies follow similar claims made in a recent exposé by Vanity Fair.
In the lengthy article, the outlet reported that “Real Housewives of New York City” alum Ramona Singer’s alleged racial hostility and use of the N-word during production of Season 13 — which aired in 2021 — were the subjects of complaints within Shed Media, Warner Bros. Discovery, Bravo and NBCUniversal.
But Singer, 66, denied using the slur, and an internal investigation turned up “inconclusive.”
However, in response to our request for comment regarding her alleged racism, Singer texted one of our reporters, “And the word I used was ‘NWord’ Not n-g……”
She has since been removed from this weekend’s BravoCon lineup and was axed from her real estate job at Douglas Elliman.
