Britney Spears: ‘I was comatose’ after Justin Timberlake broke up with me via text

Britney Spears confirms long-standing rumors that Justin Timberlake broke up with her via text message in her highly anticipated memoir.

The Princess of Pop writes in “The Woman in Me,” which hits stores on Oct. 24, that she was “devastated” and considered quitting the music industry after the *NSYNC member digitally ended their three-year relationship in 2002.

“I was comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood,” she shares.

Spears also calls out the media for portraying her as a “harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy” after Timberlake infamously implied in his “Cry Me a River” music video that she had cheated on him.

The “Toxic” singer does, however, admit for the first time to being unfaithful, writing in the forthcoming book that she “made out with” dancer Wade Robson at a bar one night.

Spears, 41, claims Timberlake, 42, had stepped out on her “several times,” too, though she does not name his celebrity paramours.

The former Mouseketeers started dating in early 1999 but reached a crossroads in their romance nearly two years later.

Spears reveals in her tell-all that she had an abortion in late 2000 after a “surprise” pregnancy.

She writes that Timberlake “definitely wasn’t happy” about it and “was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” so they agreed to what ended up being an “agonizing” procedure for Spears.

“He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young,” she remembers.

Both pop stars were about 19 at the time.

“I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision,” Spears adds. “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it.”

Timberlake has yet to publicly respond to the bombshell.

However, sources previously told Page Six exclusively that the “Suit & Tie” singer had been “concerned” about what his ex would disclose in her memoir.

“It’s eating at him,” one insider shared, calling Timberlake “very curious.”

Spears’ breakup anecdote corroborates her “Overprotected (The Darkchild Remix)” music video director Chris Applebaum’s previous claim that Timberlake had split from her over text.

“At some point during the 2nd [half of the video shoot] Brit disappeared and I went to her trailer to fetch her…only to discover her BF Justin had just broken up with her via text message. (Let me recommend to any who reads this: don’t break up via text!),” Applebaum recalled on Instagram last year.

“We sat on the floor of her trailer for a minute, talked it out, and then rallied. I told her she should get out there & show Justin he made the biggest mistake of his life.”
