‘Protective’ Travis Kelce denies ‘pushing’ Taylor Swift’s security guard on NYC date

Travis Kelce doesn’t need to calm down.

The Kansas City Chiefs player insisted during Wednesday’s “New Heights” podcast episode that he didn’t “push” Taylor Swift’s security guard during their New York City date night on Saturday.

When the athlete’s co-host — and older brother — Jason Kelce asked whether he got “any pushback” for taking over to open Swift’s car door, Travis denied shoving the man.

“I didn’t push [him],” the 34-year-old claimed. “I placed my hand on the gentleman’s back to let him know I was behind him.

“If I would have pushed him, he probably would have turned around and tased me,” the two-time Super Bowl winner continued.

Although Jason, 35, claimed that the action was caught “on camera” and his sibling sounded how “somebody who pushed somebody would” sound, Travis doubled down.

“[It was more like], ‘Good sir, would you excuse me? I need to get the door. Sorry. Right behind you. Don’t want to startle you. I know it’s your job to keep crazy people away and if you get randomly pushed in the back while standing in front of a door, that could probably be a little alarming,'” the “Catching Kelce” alum clarified.

He added that Swift’s security didn’t “say anything about” him stepping in, calling the Grammy winner’s employees “good people.”

Travis noted that he’s “protective for sure” on dates, saying he’s “self-aware” and “know[s] where the exits are” while out and about.

“I feel like whenever I’m on a date, I’m always having the sense [that] I’m a man in the situation,” the former reality star explained.

With their recent outings being analyzed online, he joked that he has been “caught” in “weird hand-holding poses.”

Travis, however, was primarily praised for his behavior, with Swifties gushing via Twitter about the “queen treatment” the “gentleman” gave the “Cruel Summer” singer.

The duo stepped out in Manhattan on both Saturday and Sunday night, marking their first public PDA moment as they held hands.

Fans even speculated at a secret makeout session as Swift was photographed sporting smudged red lipstick, with the same tint seemingly present on Travis’ own mouth.

The pair were “kissing throughout the night” at a “Saturday Night Live” afterparty, a source told Page Six.

While Swift has yet to comment on their budding romance, Travis has spoken out on multiple occasions since the songwriter began attending his games last month.

Initially, the tight end’s intention was to only “talk about sports … moving forward” as Swift is “not in the media as much.”
